Hi everyone, I’m about to reorder hay for Teddy. I usually get 20lb boxes of SECOND cut Timothy hay from small pet select. I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to change it up, and get a box of FIRST or THIRD cut hay for my next order? Is variety of hay good for him? I’m thinking it might keep him more interested, if he has occasional variety in his diet.

I took him to the vet for a routine checkup recently, and she said he’s in excellent health. I didn’t think to ask her this question, tho.

Feedback is appreciated, thanks.

My rabbits pretty much always get second cut Timothy hay, it's the easiest to buy in bulk (and in my opinion makes them smell better lol). But variety may help him not get bored of the Timothy. Orchard and oat grass are nice ones you could try if you want to mix it up.

I am a new rabbit parent but already tried several different hay options from Amazon. All were dusty and didn’t look fresh. Last box I got from DakotaHayProducts on Etsy. This one is amazing. There’s so much hay for the money! It’s super fresh, smells good, no dust, and we don’t sneeze from it. The image below is just one bale from the six we got (Bob approved).
