    can non-rex's have rex's?

ill start off by saying i dont know much about rabbits' breeds and such..but my female, Esset, just had 5 babies, and two of them are black and white. these two have very, very short fur and it feels very different when compared to any of the other babies or parents. Of course, i dont expect...

In need of help..not sure what to do

My female, Esset, had 3 rabbits on July 20th and this past friday, August 19th, she had 5 more. Ive taken the necessary actions by getting Ellipsis neutered and continuing to keep the separated..but I'm quite concerned. I can't quite discern any specific information on the health of the older...

Smudge gets fixed tomorrow and I am stressed

my male rabbit, Ellipsis, literally was just altered 2 days ago. I was concerned as well, researching for hours on what to do afterwards but as it turned out, he was ENTIRELY back to his old self within 6-7 hours after the surgery. He hops, he eats, and he continues to try to mount the female...

How to Prepare for a Loss...

as upsetting as a loss can be, you must consider all the other possible lives this rabbit could have had if not the life you provided it. it could have spent its days cooped up in a closet owned by an 8 year old, never aloud to so much as move, let alone run and jump. He could have been owned...

(RIP) Caring for the baby rabbits

thanks for your reply, hillrise. unfortunately, he passed a few minutes ago. hopefully, he/she didnt feel much pain. I read somewhere that if they arent fed regularly, their metabolisms slow down and they just sleep more until they don't wake up. i hope that's true cause this is pretty rough...

(RIP) Caring for the baby rabbits

the pregnancy came rather unexpected, but my female rabbit (Esset) is doing a good job. However, there is one that seems rather close to death. I believe its due to lack of food, because she's not removing it from the other healthy ones. I really hope I didnt get to it too late, because...

Drastically increased sexual aggression after birth

I certainly take the warning seriously. They have been separated since i suspected pregnancy and will be until they're both spayed and neutered on the 19th. Trust me, all warnings and advice are greatly appreciated. Just got some mesh stuff today and intend to put it up tomorrow. Thanks again...

    Nibbling at clothes..??

two things to try. my rabbits have been going crazy chewing on the trim around the lower portion of the wall in my closet. whenever they start chewing, from behind them, i gently lower my hand onto their back and slide it between them and the wall, then i gently nudge away from the wall...

Should I not be giving my bun fresh stuff?

assuming all pet store employees are equivalent to the used car salesman stereotype is quite a leap. it's possible that he may just have been confused. isn't it true that you're not supposed to give your rabbit lettuce due to the risk of diarrhea? (thats not rhetorical, im really asking! lol)...

Drastically increased sexual aggression after birth

yes, pharfly, i have become aware of my rabbits' priorites and motives. lol; although nature could have found a way, i doubt it's happened in the very small window of time provided (i'm always in there with them when theyre out of the cage, and the only thing i do is push him away if he tries...

    Help! I'm scared!

I don't know if I would consider the bot fly harmless..It's obvious that a larvae maturing inside human or animal tissue is going to need some form of sustenance. that sustenance is obtained through consuming dead or living tissue. it should be noted that flies that require a host to lay eggs...

    Help! I'm scared!

I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure a specific fly, the bot fly, is the one responsible for fly strike. bot flies are quite different from the common housefly, and while the housefly doesn't pose the same dangers a bot fly does, they are still rather unsanitary and a concern for...

Drastically increased sexual aggression after birth

Hello everyone. This will be my first post on this forum My female rabbit, Esset, recently (and without my knowledge) at some point became impregnated by my male, Ellipsis. The litter was born yesterday/the night before and I'm alittle concerned. Ellipsis has always done the whole "grunting...
