My female rabbit suddenly biting and mounting my male?

I've had my two rabbits Willie and Sadie for about a year now. They are both fixed and have been fixed since they were 6 months old (they are both almost exactly a year old now). They were not introduced to each other until they were both fixed. They bonded quickly and easily with no aggression...

Is there any such thing as a rabbit groomer??

I use pine horse litter (they are basically wood stove pellets). I layer it pretty thickly. I guess I could try adding some more and see if that helps at all.

Is there any such thing as a rabbit groomer??

He is neutered, has two large cat litter boxes set up around my room where he free ranges. Has lots of hay in the hay racks above the boxes, and fresh litter every day. I think,he's just been sitting in the litter box and getting the pee on his belly.

Is there any such thing as a rabbit groomer??

I have a Mini Lop who has issues cleaning his bottom. He doesn't get poopie butt so much as he just drags his long fur through his pee. His bottom seems to always be wet and I dont want him getting sick. I groom my rabbits daily (just a simple brushing) and try to get his underneath as well as...

Bonding 4 Rabbits? Is it possible??

Recently, someone from a local shelter has contacted me (because I volunteered there this summer) and asked if I was looking to adopt a pair of rabbits. I already have a pair; a fixed holland lop and a fixed mini lop. They are a male and female pair. They bonded in about 2 hours- I know...

    Vienna Marked?

I'm looking into breeding some vienna marked rabbits. I found a female holland lop that is an adorable black and white vienna marked bunny with blue eyes. Could I breed her to a "normal" male holland lop and get a mixture of vienna marked and "normal" lops, or would they all be "normal"? Or vice...

    Silver's Getting Neutered!

I would say keep him in the cage for the week following his surgery. Make sure you keep him WARM during recovery. Don't change his diet, it could cause digestive shock. Just feed him how you normally do. As far as him being alone for a few hours a day, it's actually ideal to minimize contact...

    Need advice and opinions please!

I agree with everything you said! Rabbits just can't "play" together from time to time. Way too stressful.

    Need advice and opinions please!

I wouldn't think its worth that risk. Your rabbit, being a senior, is at high risk if she did become pregnant. She may have trouble delivering regardless of if the babies survive the duration of the pregnancy and there's a chance she could die while giving birth. Also, if your neighbors rabbit...

Starting a small, high quality rabbitry?

I live in South Carolina. Rabbit shows are super popular around here, especially in in Charlotte, NC which is about 30 minutes from the city where I live. People living in my city have to travel over an hour in any direction to find a breeder. I had to drive 2 hours for my first rabbit who...

Starting a small, high quality rabbitry?

MajorV: I haven't shown rabbits before; and although I'm very knowledgable about health and care(and have two rabbits of my own who are both fixed), I don't know all that much about show so I would definitely have to do some research before breeding show rabbits. I wanted to start with a popular...

Starting a small, high quality rabbitry?

I've been saving money to open a small, high quality rabbitry. I'm planning to only sell them as pets or show bunnies. In the beginning, I will probably only start with a breeding trio, two pairs of breeders, or three at most, as I want to get used to the business. I will keep all of the rabbits...

    Candles?

I think it's generally not safe to burn candles around rabbits just because you don't know what sorts of chemicals could be in the wax. There are candles made that are safe for pets. I would do an internet search and see if you can find some pet-safe candles. :-)
