    Urine scald -

Let me clear up a few details ra7751: Dustee was at 5 pounds when she was probably 1-1.5 years of age. I left her for a week with my boyfriend and he misunderstood my directions for feeding. I put her on a pellet decrease - it wasn't drastic and she went down to about 4 pounds and I kept...

    Urine scald -

Update: They gave Dustee subcutaneous fluids to help make her pee to be able to do a urinalysis to see if she had any sludge/ infections. So Dunkyn had to stay with her too, in his travel case, because they are bonded. Anyway... she peed a little bit the next morning ( I have stubborn...

    Urine scald -

Thanks, I'm noticing that some of her poop pellets are white from where she've peed - so that would be an indication of sludge or stones. I have a vet apointment booked for before noon on Wednesday. I'll keep you posted.

    Urine scald -

She is caged, but it's a big 2 storey cage for her and her bunmate. She've had this issue before and nothing came of it. Before it was due to her being overweight. She is a small Netherland Dwarf. At her heaviest she was 5 pounds. Now she is just 3. But she isn't boney. Just good for her size...

    Urine scald -

One of my rabbits, Dustee, she seems to not be cleaning herself well enough or something. She is not over-weight - actually she lost 8 ounces between vet visits and the vet suggested that I increase pellet consumption. Dustee also gets her scent glands clogged sometimes - waxy substance builds...

    Living Arrangements

This is a new cage that I specifically built for them. All new parts, different litters.... Dobie is a little bully with "big-bunny syndrome" I think. I even put the new cage where both of their separate cages were to try and not make it too stressful for them. I tried letting them run around...

    Living Arrangements

Thank you. I am feeling discouraged. I feel like giving up on them. He jumps in thelitter with her while she is eating her hay and she freaks out and runs away. I just felt like throwing the towel. They are in separate cages, except when I supervise their alone time in the cage, but they can...

    Living Arrangements

They are perfect with each other when they are in the "commom-room" - it's like a full sized bedroom. their cage is 56x28x42 and has 2 levels. This is where they are doing the chasing and fur pulling. They have been attempting to live together for almost 2 weeks now. They are in the huge cage...

    Photos of Muffin!

Gorgeous bunny - His ears look too long to be a Netherland dwarf or even a mix of Netherland. But OH SO CUTE!!!

    Living Arrangements

Khya (New Zealand) and Dobie ( 3-pound dwarf hotot) are now living together, but Dobie seems to like getting Khya running and stopping when she flops over from exhaustion. He bites on her bum and sometimes pulls out fur - never any skin tags though- and she looks scared then flops out in the...

    Kokho's smelly pee!

So here is the verdict: I got Kokho from the vets around 3:30 Friday afternoon and he is healthy as a horse. No infection. They had to extract the pee from him with a needle and after that he peed on his own. Silly bunny My vet, Dr. MacKay,don't get to see many rabbits where the owner will...

    Kokho's smelly pee!

No we haven't discussed what the next step would be if it's not a UTI. He's still at the vets office. He still hasn't peed. They are going to extract it with a needle at noon if he hasn't peed by then. By 2pm today Atlantic time, it will be 24 hours since he've peed. Poor guy. That can't be...

    Kokho's smelly pee!

So, I took Kokho to the vet today and because his pee was so smelly, she wanted to do a urinalaysis (?spelling) to see if it was the makings of a UTI. She is keeping him overnight because he hasn't peed on his own yet and she has already given him 200ml of sub-Q fluids. He is litter-trained, so...

    any advice for GI statis

as for the canned pumpkin - make sure it's not the pie filling, but the actual pumpkin. they may take to that better than the sweet pineapple - as too much sugar can upset the gi tract as well. And you don't want to make the situation worse.
