RESOLVED Lucy needs a foster/forever home (NSW Australia)

HI Dave, I'm so sorry your situation doesn't allow you to keep Lucy. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to take her myself, but I'm forwarding this to my sister in case she can, one of her bunnies just passed away a fortnight ago. I'll keep an ear out for you in case I come across anyone who...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

Oops, I've got issues then, her bonded buddy is a neutered buck- Topaz. She's going to just have to deal with it.

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

UPDATE ON VIOLET Well we went to the vet and I have a perfectly healthy bunny. Yay!!!!! Her lungs and respiratory system are all clear, and her uterus feels fine, so no issues after her last pregnancy. He said it's most likely hormonal- there's nothing physically wrong with her. With the...

    Introducing puppy and bunnies

I have 2 golden retrievers that are fine with my bunnies. The dogs were here first, but have always been outside pets. When I got my first rabbit, she was an inside rabbit. Initially I let the dogs inside, and put her in an inside cage, so they could interact safely. When they started ignoring...

    Where are all the Aussies?

Welcome guys!!!! NICS are a square grid peice (about 30cm square) that can be made into cubes or cages or something. It's like a modular storage system, you keep adding the squares together with the connectors, and you can make cubes for storage or cages out of them. I got some a few years ago...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

My carrier has a front door and a top door. I might give them a treat in it now and leave it open overnight so they're more used to it in case I can take them in the morning. Thanks!

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

Nothing has changed in the house, or their environment AT ALL. I'm going to call the vet in the morning, and hope he can get me in tomorrow, otherwise I can't get time off work again til Wednesday. This girl hasn't been able to be picked up since I've had her and I know she's going to freak out...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

HI Flashy, no the noise seems to be fairly constant, thats why I've started to think it may be a breathing thing instead of behaviour thing. She stops making it when she's eating or if she licks my hand, but it seems to be on inhalation, now I've looked at it from this perspective.

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

HI Claire, Thanks for your suggestion. I can't pick her up without a major hissy fit, but I've palpated every portion of her that I can reach with her feet on the ground. I've covered as much of her abdomen as I can reach (which seems to be most of it) and there is no change or flinching at all...

    Are single buns alright?

My first bunny, Grace was an only bun, and she was my best friend. She and I were the bonded pair, and spent a lot of time together. When she passed and I wanted another rabbit, I knew I didn't have the same amount of time as I used to, so I got a pair of bunnies. In my experience, if the...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

I hope shes ok. It's just that it's so constant, and not related to anything that has me worried. Every other noise she's made in the past has had a stimulus, and is identifiable as a greeting or pleasure etc. Luvabun - I know what you mean about mumbling to herself over the hay, that one is so...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

I suppose it's a little like a snoring noise. But why would she snore while she's awake? She can stop making the noise to lick my hand, or eat or cluck.....

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

HI Guys, Thanks for your responses! Loppalove, there's no discharge from eyes at all. They have toys, but she's never shown any interest in them at all. She LOVES food though, thats the highlight of her day, when I top up their straw and pellets in the mornings, and greens and pellets after...

    G'day from Perth, WA (Australia)

HI Carol and Sox. Beth from Sydney here. Welcome to the forums, this is by far the best rabbit forum I've come across. The guys here are super knowledgeable and were really supportive and helpful when my bunny was sick. There's also a Australian section on the forum if you ever need it...

Excessive vocalisation/sounds from Violet- is something wrong?

My girl bunny Violet has suddenly started making excessive sounds over the past 2 days. I'm worried something is wrong with her. Usually she just makes a few clucking noises when she's happy with her food, or the occasional purr, and last night, she was clucking over her food and then kept...
