    Lynx Mini Rex

Ive done more research to double check that indeed I am using true lynx in my program. In my lynx I noted: Very distinct ring definition, White udercolor, orange intermediate ring color, and even lilac tipping over their bodies. I also checked their bellies which is white over lilac. The pics i...

Yes it was the brkn lilac fawn buck that was causing the opal. I still use hime once in a while though. However he did throw 2 lynx bucks for me however I didnt keep either of them back. My lynx to lynx has so far thrown me only lynx, nice pink skin with the agouti markings coming in as their...

Very upset, my old doe is a new MUM

IF she hasnt already done so make a proper nest, a box full of straw is ideal and ensure any fur she pulled lines the nest and also is on top of the kits. JUst handle the kits daily to ensure they are warm and their bellies are full.

LOL...let her try to find a pure bred English Angora on pet finder. LOL..a nice pure bred anything for that matter. Most of the stuff they lable as pure bred is mixes or just really poor examples of the breed

My babies are already 6 weeks old!!!

I use shur gain pellets its a canadian brand. They already have 16% protien in them, now think about feeding more very high protien hay to your kits its bound to cause trouble. Mine would usually die between 4-6 weeks. Would bloat up not eat not crap and die.

My babies are already 6 weeks old!!!

Initially I used to however I was gettingout breaks ofEnteritis every other litter. I tried different kinds of alfalfa and alfalfa mixes however in the end a breeder told me that the kits get enough protien from mothers milk and after that pellets. Now I only feed grass hay there is probably a...

    To the rabbit breeders

Yes the hypocrasy is disgusting. I enjoy posting on rabbit forums, and learning things from pple there. However many of these pet forums have some kinda hate on for the show and breeding world. Dont they realize that as breeders we know much more than the average pet owner simply because we have...

My babies are already 6 weeks old!!!

I never feed young rabbits veggies. I keep them strictly on timothy hay and pellets, especially after weaning, lots of timothy hay and NO alfalfa. I also dont agree that lettling the mother weans is the best. At about 6-7 weeks most babies are healthy enough to be weaned. I place them in a...

    Lynx Mini Rex

I have a brkn lilac fawn buck that I bred with a lynx to produce my first lynx. That means that some of my does can produce fawn as well as lynx, but I just pet them out. That is how I had to start as it was very difficult to find pure lynx to start with. I have since obtained lynx breeding...

    Lynx Mini Rex

Hmmm ive always thought the undercolor should be very white, and the undercolor very orange with a very slight lilac tip. IVe always thought the lilac undercolor was exclusive to opals.

I forgot to ask Pam as a judge what are the main reasons for DQ for the lynx variety other than the wrong under color in the ring. Im new to the variety so I want to ensure I havent missed anything.

Thanks guys, I wish there where more out there it might make for some interesting competition. I usually dont have enough competition at shows in my color category, which means I have to go for a BOB or a BOS...But its great when pple stop by our coops to look at our unique rabbits.

    To the rabbit breeders

A responsible breeder has a plan and a market more than one in most cases, which usually prevents them from contributing to the problem.

    To the rabbit breeders

Ive been to plenty of shelters and continue to drop by once in a while, ive seen plenty of "pure breds" that are to be brutally honest ugly and poor examples of the breed, usually as a result of pet qual bred to pet qual. The rest are mainly mixes. Once in a blue moon I see a half decent pure...

    Euthanasia

Ummm im sorry my message was garbled, someone edited it making it hard to understand. What I said was a smart knock to the back of the skull. And as long as you put some zip into it, the death should be painless.
