    Ear mites

She looked with a scope because he's so furry, she could hardly see insidehis ear. Hopefully she looked all the way down. I will definitely keep watching him, though, thanks! Edited to fix spelling :)

    Is this food any good?

Instead of using a regular litter, I just get a huge bag (if you can, obviously a bale would be even cheaper) of timothy hay and put that over newspaper. Houdini was getting urine scald when I used just newspaper, which I should have known better, but then I started putting hay over the...

My rabbit had a close call today!

I don't want to hijack, but MikeScone, my bunny did the same thing to my couch! He tore it open, and now he lives in there! Foreverblue, I am happy that your bunny is ok! My first rabbit died after a ferret got to him and his heart stopped at the vet, it was the worst. It sounds like you...

    NJ Rabbit Savvy Vets

I take my bunny to Dr. Kim Somjen at Belle Mead Animal Hospital in Hillsborough, which is already on the list. She sees all the rabbitsat the practice, and the last time I went there, Houdini was the third lionhead she had seen that week. Another rabbit savvy vet in the area is Dr. Barbara Guy...

    Ear mites

He went to the vet yesterday, and thankfully does not have mites! I guess he was not scratching as much as I thought he was. Thank you all so much for your responses, I really appreciate the help!

    Ear mites

I couldn't see anything inside his ear, it looked ok to me. But, they had an appointment for today, so we will see. Thanks for your replies!

    Stupid Baytril didn't work.

I don't know anything about allergic reactions, but it seems like you also stopped smoking in the room about two weeks ago, so maybe that's why he stopped sneezing so much. If you still do occasionally, that could be why he is still sneezing a bit.

    Ear mites

Can anyone tell me about ear mites? My bunny has been scratching his ear a lot, but it seems to be only his right ear. I could be wrong on that, though. Anyway, are they visible? I don't see anything on his ear, but I couldn't really get a good look inside. He is due for a checkup at the vet...

    Is this bunny cheap?

I'm no help with deciding if a breeder is good, but if you haven't already, try petfinder.com You can put in what breed you are looking for and your zip code. I don't know if you can order the results to show you how close the rescue is to you, but the website will show you all the lionheads (or...

    Sperryville rabbit vet??

I'm procrastinating right now, so I googled a bit and found these two from http://www.rabbitsinthehouse.org/vets.html. They were both about 40 miles away. Companion Animal Hospital, Dr. Jackie Schulman 14760 Lee Highway, Gainesville, VA (703)754-8387 Healthy Paws Medical Center, Dr. Rebecca...

    Too Late to Spay?

You might know about this already, but try finding a low cost spay/neuter program. This site had some in Massachusetts: http://rabbit.rescueme.org/Massachusetts Good luck!

    (RIP) alfred

I've never lost a rabbit to a stroke or hairball, but I am so sorry to hear about Alfred. :( Your bunnies look adorable in the picture. I hope Cinnabun is ok, and you too! It's the worst feeling.

    Chester, new to timothy hay

If he won't eat the timothy hay, try other types of hay. My rabbit will not touch timothy hay at all. Then I tried giving him orchard grass, which he likes, and now he LOVES oat hay. As for pellets, I had my bunny on the unhealthy stuff too for a while. When I took him to the vet, she told me...

    Doesn't like me?

I completely agree with what everyone else said. Both of the rabbits I have had hated being picked up. My first bunny was very affectionate when HE wanted to be. My bunny now is the same way. He will let me know if he wants to be pet. I'm only "allowed" to pet him if he sniffs my hand and uses...
