Increased risk of lymphoma owning multiple rabbits

Hi, Thanks to all of you that gave your feedback. I asked my veterinarian, and she had never heard of such a thing. My sister will see the pathologist in a few months, so I told her to ask for more details. I'll keep you posted. Right now I'm trying not to worry too much. But I'm a bit of a worrier.

Increased risk of lymphoma owning multiple rabbits

Ok, This is a weird question, but here it goes. My sister had contact with a person that is a pathologist and head at a prestigious hospital through her job. She told him it is fun coming to our house because we have lots of bunnies (11). He told her that isn't good. She asked if it was because...

    Rabbit personality

Hi Blue Eyes, Yes, in each case it was an adult male and baby female, they were bonded pre spay, and the bond continued post spay. I have also witnessed the same thing in the shelter but with other combinations. In my case there was no separation except the day of the spay.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the advice and sharing your experience with me. I actually have quite a few rabbits. I have successfully bonded all of them into pairs or trios, except for one male neutered English lop that I would like to find a friend for. None of the rabbits I have now came from...

Thanks Alyssa and Bugs for your feedback. I did not purchase the bunny yet, I'm just wondering it. And I agree she is too young to be away from her mom, which I told the girl at the store, to which she responded, "oh no, if they are eating hay and pellets it's fine". Plus, I'm not sure she is a...

Hi, So, I saw a baby rabbit at a pet store( I know) and fell in love with her. There were a bunch of them actually. She was the only one that came up for pets and licked my hand and her litter mates. She is only 4 - 5 weeks old ( again I know). Is a friendly baby rabbit destined to be a friendly...

    Free roaming?

Hi, I have two ofy rabbits free roam in my home along with 3 cats and two large dogs. My dogs and cats seem to understand the difference between the rabbits that live in our home and the wild rabbits outside. I have had no problems. Blue eyes, one of my dogs looks a lot like yours .

Help my rabbit is shaking - RIP

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I can tell you really cared and loved your rabbit. Last year, my very first rabbit died unexpectedly, he was fine at bedtime, sick in the morning and died later that day. I was so shocked i had the vet do an autopsy, but he couldn't find anything wrong. It is...

Help my rabbit is shaking - RIP

I don't have experience with ear mites in rabbits, but I think it should be treated or could cause problems like head tilt and ear infections, but I'm not an expert.

Help my rabbit is shaking - RIP

She could have a respiratory infection, from pasteurella. The strange breathing and stuff in her eyes would suggest that. Did the vet check her ears and listen to her breathing? She might need antibiotics.

    Sad about sick rabbits

Here are pics of the indoor enclosure, Tallulah, and an outdoor enclosure. My rabbits downstairs go outside in their bonded groups for a few hours a day if it's not too hot. I forgot to mention that Tallulah also has eye rewetting gel too 4x a day for the eye that title down. And Grayson is...

    Sad about sick rabbits

Hi, so I have a beautiful free roam neutered English lop house rabbit, Grayson. A few weeks ago I came home from work and could tell he was sick. I took him to the vet the next morning. He had sores inside his mouth. So he used to go outside, and clearly had eaten something that irritated his...
