Hey guys I've found a few darker kind of rust colored stains in my bunnies cage I'm not sure if I should be concerned about them or not. I have two buns a female 6 months old who was spayed just about a month ago. And a male 11 months old neutered. Both are eating and drinking like normal, neither has changed in activity and personality, both super active and excitable. And to my knowledge both are 100% litter trained except for the odd poo outside the box. If someone knows what they are or could be and can give me some advice that would be lovely!

They look like urine stains to me. Are you sure they are litter trained? Rabbits usually like to pee on anything soft like fleece.

Just a few questions. Are your rabbits having any urine stained fur around their bottom? Do either appear to be straining at all when they pee? Does it appear to you that one of them may be dribbling urine or does it look more like a puddle in one spot? Have you noticed any other changes of behavior, or only the loss of litter box habits?

You may be able to sort out who is doing it and what is occurring, by laying down a light colored clean sheet and observing for a little bit. If there is any urinary incontinence, it shouldn't take long to spot it. Try and see if the bun actual assumes the normal peeing posture or if the peeing is occurring while the bun is moving.

Jack is relatively new to me I have only had him for 1.5 months and he did have a few accidents but during the day he seems to be making all his pees and poos into the littebox. He could be going on the blankets at night though when I am unable too monitor them. The genitals and surrounding fur on both of them look completely normal and other than losing fur which I am sure is just normal shedding there has been no behavioral changes in either buns.
