One of my mates is starting breeding conti. giants and we are confused about the nest box size!

The guideline is, "Big enough for the rabbit to hop in and turn around, but not so big that the babies will be able to spread too far". So considering an adult conti. giant is at the very least 65cm long, how does this work out? because that makes the nest box (according to guidelines) 27"x27", but surely this is too big because of the babies spreading around? :?

Box size isn't *that* important. My Hollands have big boxes just because I like to give them lots of room. :) The point of a box is to keep the kits contained so they can't leave, but I've never had them spread out. They stick close together to keep warm.

I have had many wondering babies. I normally gave boxes JUST big enough for the doe to sit in. The box is to be longer than wide, the mom can squish up to turn around.

I hope someone can help you :)

My Flemish Boxes are 16" wide x 24-26" long and 16" high.
