Hello! I really need help.
I noticed that my rabbit (1 year and 3 months) has mites. I have revolution but need her weight taken. She used to be 1.3 kg. Does anyone know how to do the math? I have searched this up and kept seeing 18 mg/ kg. I don't want to give her too much. I have other rabbits too.
I have to give them all Revolution the Kitten version. Will it work if I gave them all a dose at the same time? Or will I have to give it to them individually?
Thank you! ❤

Why do you think your rabbit has mites? What signs have you seen that seem to indicate this?

Medirabbit: fur mites

Medirabbit: ear mites

Medirabbit: safe antiparasitics

The usual recommended dose for Revolution(selamectin) will be around 18mg/kg depending on the parasite involved, applied topically, according to instructions. Though some places say 6mg/kg is enough, I wouldn't do any less than 12mg/kg when treating mites, and 18mg/kg for fleas. So a 1.3kg rabbit could get anywhere from 15-27mg, according to studies. The kitten dose of Revolution(selamectin) contains 15mg a tube(always double check amounts and dosages yourself for safety).

I'm not sure what you're meaning by all at the same time or individually. To be safe it could be that all pets in a home are treated on the same day, or just the affected animal. Though if only doing the affected animal, this could risk having to retreat all animals later if other animals end up having them too.

When in doubt, always consult with an experienced rabbit vet first.

Thank you! I have cats and rabbits.
I have a kitten dose of 15mg. Is it safe for me to give the whole thing?
The signs I see are scratching and pulling hair off her tail or feet. She is eating.

I've given the information about it that I know,, and I'm not comfortable saying if something is safe for you to do or not. That's a decision you have to make based on your research of reliable medical information about it. Revolution(selamectin) applied at the dosage provided in veterinary literature regarding rabbits, is generally considered safe, though there is always the chance of a negative reaction with any medication. If you aren't sure what to do, it would be best and safest to consult with a knowledgeable rabbit vet.
