Rabbit Pellets

Okay lets say I get a 50lb rabbit pellet bag, and let say I keep it moister free, and in a good place.

How long can this bag last and still be good?

Would I be better off emptying the bag into a plastic container (specified for pet foods) or keeping it in the bag?[/align]

If you are constantly opening the bag or even container, it won't last most then 4-5 months.
I would portion it into large zip lock bags. That way each bag stays fresh and will last longer.

Thanks for that info ill be sure to get some nice zip log bags. It just amazes me that I can get a 25lb of a good brand of rabbit pellets for the same amount of a 5lb bag at a petstore. Man they rip people off! Ha.

If you have the room to freeze them, they'll last even longer.
