I had bred my chocolate otter doe to my black tort buck. Now, my breeding program that I have on my computer came up as saying they would be 100% black otter. The one kit out of two is the only one that survived, and it is solid black... if self is aa and otter is atat, should ata show as otter? My brain hurts lol

The chocolate otter x black tort cross could produce a multilple number of varieties, with black otter being the most likely.

The phenotype of an At a is otter. It sounds like you got an aa black out of the cross (which means your otter is At a)

:yeahthat: Nothing is ever certain. Our Doberman was a Black and Tan and was bred to the same. We knew their pedigrees too. Out of nine puppies, one was a blue, one was a fawn, two were red and tan, and five were like mom and dad. Sometimes you get what you expect and other times you get a surpise or two.
