Hello all, I am new to this breeding thing and I have several frenchies and several Havanas. My first Havana had a litter yesterday and all seems well. 8 in total, 6 still alive. She seems to be a good mom, and made a nice nest not much hair at first, but now quite a bit. My question is how cold is to cold for the new kits. I live in NY and my rabbitry is in my garage it gets to be about 40's at night right now(maybe high 30's). Is it to cold for them? I have several more litters due in the next few weeks. Do they need heat? Any advise would be helpful.

They should be fine as long as they're well covered with fur and hay etc. 40 degrees isn't that bad at all. ;) Rabbits deal better with cold than with heat. You just dont want it absolutely freezing though. 40 degrees is an ok temperature.
