hi

i have a female mini rex rabbit named gizmo who is 2 years old. i heard that rabbits love to eat quaker quick oats but i am not sure if they are supposed to be eating them? are oats known to upset rabbits gastrointestinal tract or do you think it would be safe for me to feed them to her. and how much do you think would be the right amount to feed her if i give her 1/4 cup of pellets in the morning and lettuce and celery at night? thanks:)

Please do not use the quick oats. If you feed oats, and yes they LOVE them, use the old fashoned or steal cut oats. These are less processed.

Keep in mind oats will add weight. I give my mini lop 1 teaspoon a day on top of her oats to encourage her to eat, she tends to get very thin otherwise. With the oats she does a little dance for her breakfast that is way too cute.
