Theresa Mueller of Prideland's Rabbitry has the 4th COD (Certificate of Development) for lionheads - and she recently notified the lionhead breeder's list on Yahoogroups that she petitioned to change the colors on her COD and it has been approved.

Here are the changes:

Orange was dropped (it is no longer a showable color)

Blue was added (WOO HOO - finally - BLUE lionheads can be shown)

Siamese sable was traded out to bring in REW (Ruby Eyed White). This really doesn't change anything as Siamese Sable is on Gail Gibbon's COD (2nd certificate holder).

I just thought I'd let other folks know!

Thanks for the update Peg!

Just to clarify for other who may want to show their Lions -- varieties that do not have an approved first showing may only be exhibited with the show secretary's permission (this includes those not holding COD's as well as those that are).

Currently, the only variety that has passed a first showing is the tort, so show secretary's MUST allow tort Lions to be entered. ALL varieties compete for Best of Breed and Best Opposite of Breed.

At this point in time, as far as exhibiting varieties that do or don't have a COD, ARBA does not distinguish between those with or without COD's. As long as the exhibitor provides a standard for it, anything goes. (There has been recent discussion on this topic among judges).
