"Two Cambridge University students "let their college down" by sending a hamster through the post, a court heard today.

David Jordan and James Cole, both 19 and second year students atChurchill College, claimed to have undertaken the bizarre prank inrevenge upon a man who had threatened Jordan four months earlier.

Jordan was fined £750 and ordered to pay £100 towards costs. He was banned from keeping animals for the next 10 years.
Cole was fined £500 and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £100. He was also banned from keeping animals for the 10 years."

ONLY 10 YEARS!?? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?!

The hamster has since been adopted by Rachel Thompson, a nurse at Mrvon Heimendahl's practice. She has given it the name First Class.

That is just so mean! People like that should be shot seriously!

10 years is too few! They mailed a living animal. They should never have pets!

A person who has no empathy for an animalprobably won't learn to in the future. I think most people see a cutelittle creature and think 'awww...' but some just have no respect forlife, or the feelings of other creatures. There are some who would readthis story and laugh. Shameful how twisted some people can be, IMO.

I don't think 10 years is enough either...
