Eating a WHOLE apple stick?

Andy LOVES apple sticks, they last just about 2 seconds with him! The sticks come from my apple tree (that is chemical/pesticide free) I will sometimes get different sizes, thin,thick etc, the thin ones though, once he has chewed all the bark off, he starts to swallow and eat the apple stick as if it were hay, will he be fine? I'm worried he might poke some thing inside of him :s

Maybe stick to thicker branches so he cany eat the whole stick. Dont nees him getting impacted.
