Broken nail

This morning I went to check on Cocoa and feed him. I noticed a large piece of nail in his cage that must have broken off last night. His nails are getting long and I have been meaning to cut them. But do you think he is ok? Is it normal for rabbit's nails to break off? I don't think this ever happened before. He seems to be ok but I am just worried!

Rabbits often catch their nails, but I would suggest locating which nail it is and seieng it looks ok. It would also be worth watching it for signs of infection as it regrows, and also making sure you keep the others to a reasonable length, obviously as they get longer they are easier to tear off or catch.
