Any Linux/Gentoo users out there?? I need some help!!!

When I put in the windows xp recovery/reinstall disc on my HP Pavilion DV5 lap, it says it doesn't recognize my cd/dvd drive exists. I've heard of this problem coming up with Gentoo and new computers since the hardware is so new. But - since it isn't recognizing the driver exists, I can't install the windows cd. How do I update the drivers on gentoo?


Ug. Help anyone??
