1 year old neutered male peeing on hard wood floor

Brownie Bunny will be turning 1 on October 2. He has been really good so far, only peeing in his cage. He never quite learned to go inside the litter box, only right outside it. No matter where I moved it to. Always outside it. Which I finally accepted. Mostly pooped inside cage, occasionally outside. I have hard wood floors, but we had an area rug outside his cage for him to lounge on. Well recently he started peeing on it so I washed it which I think made it worst because he totally drenched it.

So I removed the rug and had bare floors for about 1-2 weeks. Brownie never came out. Saturday I bought 2 small rugs to place outside his cage. He peed on one Sunday and the other one yesterday. On the wood floor too. Not sure what the issue is with him... :foreheadsmack:

We have several boxes around the room and some even inside of cardboard boxes for more "privacy". Good luck.
