    When do buns stop growing?

He certainly looks full to me and is supposedly out of show stock. A girlfriend bought a "flemish giant breeding pair" sight unseen and those were most definitely NOT flemish giant rabbits but probably weighed 12lbs. He's now 7 months old and has been here a month so Ill weigh him again.

    When do buns stop growing?

Three weeks ago I brought a 6 month old Flemish giant buck into our family. I weighed him that first day and he came out at 12lbs. I haven't weighed him since and I don't think it would matter anyways. He has lost some weight with the move and him adjusting to my feeding program. I'm just...

Sudden Death - 4 out of 5 gone - what is it?

I am so sorry for your loss! Sometimes it feels like the more you care the worse your luck is... I personally get relief just knowing that they lived great lives. It may have been much to short by my liking but now they're digging 10' holes in heaven, escaping into the great outdoors and frolic...

Sudden Death - 4 out of 5 gone - what is it?

Wow, you guys really brought up some good points so let me answer your questions and fix misconceptions! Vet: Jack was neutered but had not seen a vet in several years. Joe was neutered fall of '11 and had not been to a vet since then. I am not sure if the adoption agency that I got Beatrice...

Sudden Death - 4 out of 5 gone - what is it?

Back story - Buns are inside at night, go outside in a playpen during day. They dig holes, and generally plot escape and subsequent world domination. Dates of arrival - Joe March of 2011 - 10 weeks, 3.5lbs, from breeder Beatrice July of 2011 - age unknown, 2.5lbs, history unknown Jack...

    Fostering a Boxing Bunny?!

If I go in to grab him he jumps at me, I always start by petting his face while he sits and growls at me. He doesn't get aggressive when I have a hold on him. I don't want to come off like I'm harsh on him, I'm definitely not. Ill go read up on alpha bun behavior. Thanks guys

    Fostering a Boxing Bunny?!

I am fostering a 4 year old neutered Holland Lop. He has some territorial/aggression issues that need to be figured out before he can find a new home. I don't want to makes things worse. He has had one owner for the past 4 years, they had to give him up for a move. A good friend of mine had...

    Is This Cage Suitable?

Happi Bun wrote: THANK YOU! That gives me a nice and easy way to think about it! Tonight she had still poo'd in her cage but there was definitely more in her box. Should I be concerned about how much time she seems to be nibbling/poking around at the shredded paper in her box? She has hay...

    What Breed is Beatrice? Color?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I'm not proud to admit I got her because I thought her look was so beautiful. Now were making the stuff that matters work. So far smooth. She definitely doesn't have any darker points to her color. Now Im back to google to check out Dutch/Vienna marked...

    Is This Cage Suitable?

I looked closer today and she's #1 on the towel to the left of the box. I moved the box to that corner, and put plastic sheeting down in the right corner. I also moved her hay feeder to the back wall so she eats in her litterbox. I read feeding them in the litterbox helps??? Right now she's...

    What Breed is Beatrice? Color?

Thanks everyone! Were slowly but surely getting to be friends. As females that may take a little longer... too many opinions. Im going to look up fawn, my perception of fawn seems right. She's really light, in most lighting you can barely tell she's spotted. Ill take a closer look at her...

    Is This Cage Suitable?

I am new to the bunny world, so Id like some opinions on my newest bun's cage. Also, she's an aged unspayed female (not sure of age exactly) that's not litterbox trained. What can I do to help her? She's good with #1, but she #2's all over the place. My first boy was 10 weeks old when I got...

    Litter/bedding question?

kkiddle wrote: How is the absorbency on these? Fuel pellets are hardwood vs true wood pellet bedding uses softwoods. I'm just curious for future reference. WPB breaks up super easy under wetness.

    Litter/bedding question?

I started out using Carefresh but wasn't impressed, I had some leftover Yesterdays News from my cats and mixed that 50/50 in the litterbox. My bun MUCH preferred the mix. The carefresh stuck to his long hair and would drag out of the pan. I planned on returning my extra bag of carefresh however...

    What Breed is Beatrice? Color?

I just adopted Beatrice and am super curious what she is? What would you call her color? Is there any way to tell a bun's age? My lionhead is just over 3 lbs, and she is a little bit heaver than him. I would say 4 lbs tops. These photo's are from her former foster mom, but they show her color...

    Does anyone else's bunny...

My Joe LIVES for his walks. You can barely keep up with him, as he books it here, there, and everywhere. I also take him to our local feed store and he has a blast going up and down aisles, through the clothing forest, and into his admiring public's arms. Only for a while though, and then its...
