I Made A Rabbit Bunnies Site - Would like your feedback

Thanks for your feedback, it is really appreciated. 1. The information came from our vets who deals with exotic animals and they got their information from science journals or similar with the latest research and information. I'll edit that into the article shortly. 2. Good points, i'll edit...

I Made A Rabbit Bunnies Site - Would like your feedback

A couple of years ago me and my girlfriend bought two baby bunnies never having owned rabbits before (but plenty of other animals). Over the years we've learnt a lot and also found the internet is full of contradicting advice so the past few months i've been working on a site for bunny owners...

    What is this skin disease

The blood tests say she is anaemic, has a high white blood cell count (probably to fight her infections) is low in two types of protein (shes had diarrhoea randomly the past week or so and was CONSTANTLY eating so her body wasn't absorbing the neutrients) and the start of gut disease (which was...

    What is this skin disease

Well the xray has confirmed some horrible things. 1. Shes limping on her foot and its due to either a tumour or infection infecting the bone and fracturing it. We can't amputate it as she's not well enough for such an operation. 2. She may have a tumour in her chest but the vet is unsure...

    What is this skin disease

Hmm well to be honest she hasn't had a Myxomatosis for about a year as the vets feel shes too poorly to have one. But they don't believe it could be that although reading the effects it could be possible, although shes lasted a long time with it it seems.

    What is this skin disease

We've been told steroid cream will burn the rabbits skin if used. In fact the first vet gave us some to use which did work in clearing a small but under her mouth but the 2nd and 3rd vets were shocked to find that the first vet had told us to use steroid cream.

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Well he's back eating everything again, even hard grain. The spurs on his teeth were only tiny but we will get his teeth checked properly now he's better and can have the xrays etc. Thanks all.

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Another small update. He seems to be eating more now and is happier. He's sitting with his sister now than hiding in a corner and is more active. He's eating stuff like broccoli now as well as other fresh things and a tiny bit of his normal food and hay so hopefully he's getting better...

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Vets last night really helped. Turns out the first vets were clueless as they gave him a type of steroid injection. Which meant the new vet couldn't give him any pain relief. They and us were annoyed. They'd also given us stuff that wasn't really helping and ignored a whole bunch of other...

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Not managed to get simethicone yet, not that i can find it in the UK. Will ask the vets later. Small update before we go to the vets. He's started spitting out food/fiberplex we feed him. His tummy feels very big now and makes lots of noises but he is pooing. Lots of small smelly ones stuck...

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Went to another vets last night regarding the other rabbit I mentioned in the first post and spoke about this one afterwards. They are going to see him tonight to offer a second opinion as they deal with rabbits more. They gave us some critical care (which the other vets did not) which we...

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

He is losing weight as he hasn't eaten properly for a couple of days now. The vet said the mucus in his droppings was normal as he hasn;t been eating much. Looking into mucoid enteritis more now to see if there is something we can do. Will see what the UK equivalent for the gas drops is. Thanks

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

Thanks for the replies. They said there is no point doing an xray as they can't feel anything. They've given us fiberplex, and told us to feed him baby food in a syringe. He is eating tiny amounts of grass and other bits but nothing of any size. It's like he wants to eat but cant. They said his...

Rabbit Stopped eating food. Vets clueless...again.

I already have one poorly rabbit (see my other thread) now her brother has stopped eating. He's been taken to the vets where they say they cant feel anything and his stomach is empty. The poos he does do are coming out tiny and with a jelly like substance on them. He's had a bit of gas too. He...

    Rabbit Scabby and losing fur

Thank you very much for the link. We've stopped the antibiotics for now and shes stopped wetting herself. Her skin has now stopped getting better but isn't getting worse either. So either this fungel spray has stopped working or it is mange. No Vet (1 normal and one with specialist rabbit vets)...

    Rabbit Scabby and losing fur

Another update. We got from the pet shop an anti fungal spray for rabbits. It seemed to be doing the trick, her fur was growing back, skin was soft again and all going well. Then the other day she started limping on her back foot. Took her to the vets, they said her joints are inflamed...

    Rabbit Scabby and losing fur

An update. The tea tree oil (special rabbit version) brought back her fur on her stomach. However shes now losing it on the bottom of her eats, neck and back. The vet did do a culture and nothing grew so they didn't think it was fungal. We've started using a clotrimazole cream but so far i...
