My 10-year old rabbit had some runny poop last night, which I think may be caused by the food I was feeding her in addition to too many treats. She seemed to be feeling badly this morning, and was hiding under my dresser when I go home from class (never seen her do this). She also had some gurgles in her tummy. I took this food away from her and gave her only hay, romaine lettuce, and carrots. I also gave her a 5ml dropper of water in case she was dehydrated, and .3ml of Simethicone (infant gas reliever). She is eating all of her veggies now and seems to be feeling much better, hopping around and no more gurgles. However, I am worried because she doesn't seemed to have pooped since this morning. Should I be worried about her? Maybe it will take more time before she goes?

Any advice would be appreciated, I've had Apryl for over ten years and it would break my heart to lose her over my mistake. Thanks.

If she is eating her hay and veggies on her own, that is a good sign that she is feeling better. After not eating, it can sometimes take a little bit for the pooping to get back to normal. Grass hay is the best thing to help get a rabbits digestion back on track. Leafy veggies can be good too if a rabbit is used to them, as they provide needed fluids. But I would suggest also cutting out the carrot along with the treats that you have already stopped feeding. Carrots also contain a lot of sugar and are considered a treat food, so can also contribute to overgrowth of the bad bacteria causing the digestive upset.

Clean out her litter box and area, and keep a very close eye on pooping, eating, drinking, and any changes of behavior. If she stops eating or her condition worsens, get her to a vet immediately as she may have a dangerous overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria which is an emergency. If she isn't pooping by morning, I would suggest seeing a vet, as they will need to check for a blockage.

Thank you for the advice
I took her to the vet yesterday and they gave my some antibiotics to give her and they also dewormed her just in case. She is earing, drinking, and acting completely normal, but still hasn't pooped. It's been two days now and I'm worried about her. Do you think I need to give it a little more time for the medicine to work or take her back? I'd be more worried if she wasn't acting so normal.

Thanks!

Did the vet palpate her abdomen to check for a blockage, or take xrays to see if there was a blockage?

Is the vet a really good rabbit vet?
