Yesterday, one of my rabbits passed away unexpectedly.
When I first got Nugget five years ago he lived alone for about two years before I decided it was time to find him another rabbit to bond with. My friend found our girl rabbit, Lola, in the middle of the road in a neighborhood. We presume she probably got dumped by someone who didn't want her anymore. Because of this, I have no idea if she ever lived with other rabbits before we took her in.
Lola has never been away from Nugget for this long, and she's acting fine so far, but it hasn't even been a full twenty-four hours yet. I'm a high school student so I can't spend as much time with her as she deserves. My mom and I both agree we should find a new home for her as I'm a senior now and I have no idea how I'd take two rabbits with me to college if I found her a new partner.
I do not plan on rushing this process as I want to make sure she goes to a good home with someone who has other rabbits.
I gave her the towel that was in his carrier crate and a stuffed animal. We plan on rearranging the room later today to give her a new environment. I'd appreciate any tips on how to help her during the time being. Thank you and apologies for the long post.
