This is Mr. Hyde. I’m looking for a doe and am going to be breeding him soon, and I’m curious what color he is called and what colors he would go best with. I’ve done a bit of research and from what I’ve researched I believe he’s called a Chinchilla, but I don’t know for sure. I know some color are called recessive, such as blacks and blues. There’s a young female black doe I found that is really pretty that I would like to breed him to, but I don’t know for sure yet. Can anyone with experience on colors and how genes work give me some advice?
Here’s a picture of Mr. Hyde.

He's a chestnut
It's a dominant color, so no matter what you breed him to, you're likely you get chestnut.
Broken is about the only thing that will guarantee you a chance at multiple colors

The question of what you're breeding for is needed before you decide what to pair him with. Chestnut isnt accepted for showing.
