👋🏻 Hi All!

Meet Puffin - she’s a rescue of unknown age (estimate 3 months) and breed. I’ve had mini lops before, but never a Lionhead, Netherland Dwarf or mix of the two which I believe she may be. She was advertised as a Dwarf Hotot, but it seems apparent to me that she has Lionhead in her. Dunno what to think!

Any experts recognize her breed, and ultimately know how big she will get? Any guesses of age from those experienced with her breed would be most appreciated. The vet came to see her yesterday and couldn’t say much.

Right now she’s the size of a Guinea Pig (teeny!), is super active and a very tuned in listener (ears always going).

Thank you!

Cute bunny, I love the name Puffin! Guesses for age would be 2 months - 7 months, she doesn't look very old. Her breed does seem to be Dwarf and Lionhead, although maybe some Havana in there. I think she'll get a little bigger, maybe juvenile to adult guinea pig size, but time will tell. I agree with the fact she has Lionhead in her, the fur is a dead giveaway, looks just like a Lionhead's. Welcome to the forum by the way!

I'm not an expert and I'm sure others will have great answers as well, you could ask @SableSteel, they're very good with breeds!

Take care and best wishes ~
Remy

She is so so so cute! 😍 I agree with SableSteel, she is anywhere from 2-3 months. She doesn't look anything like a Dwarf Hotot (see picture) but does look like a Lionhead/Netherland Dwarf. The short ears are a dead giveaway of the dwarf in her, and the fur shows that she is obviously a Lionhead. Netherland Dwarfs weigh 1.1-2.5 lbs and Lionheads weigh 2.5-3.75 lbs. so I'm guessing she will only weigh about 2 or 3 lbs when she grows up.

I saw in one of the pictures both of your rabbits were eating veggies beside each other, do you plan on bonding them? I don't know if she has been spayed, but since she is so young I'm guessing that she has not been operated on yet. You probably already know this, but if you do plan on bonding them I wouldn't start the bonding yet, because when you spay her the 'bond' they had will be forgotten and you will be back to the beginning.
