I wondered how you can tell a rabbits age and their life expectancy? I have had Jasper two years now snd he was found in parkland 2 years ago. I took him in and he has to have regular teeth filing. Can’t eat hay etc and lives on softened quality pellets. A daily grape or two which he likes. My vet agree he’s an old boy around 10/11. Attached recent pics of him. He’s like a cat love being cuddled not and ounce of aggression in him.

I think the oldest rabbit records was almost 19 years old, but on average for old rabbits, I think 10-15 years

Our crew usually do alright to about 13 1/2 years of age. All are indoor, all are sp/eutered. All receive daily exercise time. Cataracts have occurred in our elder buns. Mobility slows down, and metacam is Rx'd for arthritic concerns. All see a DVM if there's a medical concern. Our DVM is seeing a 15 y.o. rex.

Nancy, you make me smile with those ages!

Actually, it's Larry--bought Nancy a new computer and just took it over--so lazy I didn't change it, and just added my name under the Member tag. And yes, we are amazed at how long most have lived--neutered, inside only, veggies and unlimited orchard grass. Our avatar bunny, Nikki (Bunnicula) was the only one with cataracts--she ran around the room as nothing gets moved but it did make it easier to put her up--she passed at 14, sad day.
