I've noticed lately that one of my buns (holland lop) tail and that area is wet with urine. Should I be worried? She's nursing a litter and they're almost 6 weeks old.

She's eating/drinking fine she's just eating unlimited pellets and hay. She poops normally but sometimes has extra cecotrophes. Also, she seems kinda thin. She weighed 2 lbs 13 oz before the litter and now she's under that.

If she uses a litter box and it is kept clean but she is still getting urine soaked fur on her bottom, it's possible it could be due to a UTI, bladder sludge, or even possibly syphilis. A vet will need to determine what the cause may be and treat with the appropriate medication.

If she is getting urine soaked fur, you also need to be careful about urine burn occurring. If it is getting soaked to the skin you will need to keep the area cleaned up and may even need to give a butt bath to keep the urine from burning the skin. You will also need to be careful about fly strike because flies will be attracted to the wet skin, so you need to make sure to dry the fur the best you can.

With her feeling skinny and losing weight, it might be good to go ahead and wean the babies. At 6 weeks the babies should be fine, and it really would be better if you feel the mom's health is at risk.
