How to keep kits safe from falling in waterbowl when they leave nestbox

Elevate it. So that the rim is 3-4" from the ground. (Never saw a reason to do so myself)
Put a cover with a head-sized opening on it ( I do that in winter, so that the 3W heating element keeps it from freezing)
Or use shallow bowls where they can get out.

Never had a problem, when they were big enough to get into the bowl, they also managed to get out of it.

In winter, I might resort to elevating the bowl.
