i am thinking about getting a Holland lop and I am wondering if they need to eat hay to survive. I am allergic and am wondering if I can buy grass from a store to feed them instead. I want it to be healthy as possible!

What is you allergic from the hay, myself it’s allergic to grass pollen. Have started to react on hay also.

Because bunnies need hay or grass as long as you can provide them with it. Everything will be okay ^^

Hay it’s just dry grass [emoji5]

Certain hays can cause more allergic reaction than others. Some members on here are allergic to only certain types of hay. Perhaps they can chime in here and let us know which hays seems to have less (or no) reaction.

Grass is also fine but I don't know how you would be able to "buy grass" from a store. The turf sold at home improvement stores would surely be loaded with fertilizer and weed control.
