Our poor Lupa hasnt been feeling well lateky. She stopped eating her veggies and pellets last night so we took her to the vet. Vet gave us some critical care to feed her and said she fekt a blockage in her lower intestine.vet told us to come back tonight if she didnt go back to normal behaviour so we could do xrays. Well she's still not eating and she just peed in the corner of the top level of the cage. And she wants to sit in it because every time we move her she just goes back. We were going to take her back tonight at 11 to see thd vet she saw yesterday but does the peeing outside ofthe litter box warrant an earlier visit?

Lupa is a 2 year old lionhead and she's been fixed

The peeing may or may not be related, but it is something you want the vet to check. If there is a urinary problem causing pain, that could also be the cause of your rabbits stasis. If you didn't also get metacam for pain, and a gut motility med, you should talk to your vet about it as these are pretty normal things to prescribe for a rabbit with stasis. Getting the pain under control is what often helps get the rabbit eating again on it's own. if this isn't a very experienced rabbit vet that you took her to, you may want to find a different one, as a good rabbit vet is very important in getting the proper treatment for your rabbit. It might be a good idea to get your rabbit in sooner rather than later if you aren't seeing any improvement and you weren't given pain meds or a gut stimulant. You should definitely have xrays done.

She actually seems to be pretty knowledgeable. She wanted to try the critical care first since the xrays are going to cost us around $400. She just called to check on Lupa and wanted us to bring her back tonight when she goes on her shift whether she's better or not just so she can see if the blockage she felt last night is gone or not. If she's not eating tonight she's going on some pain meds and getting xrays done for sure

Make sure she is warm when you give her the critical care. If her core body temp is low due to pain/shock, force-feeding is not a good idea. $400 is a bit expensive for x-rays, in my opinion. I go to a pretty premium vet and there they're $150ish, digital x-rays done in-house. Did the vet give you any pain meds to administer? Sitting in their own pee is a classic sign of pain in rabbits.
