In light of my new additions, I figured I would have another go at blogging.

We will start with the Tans, Tesla and Kraken.

Tesla is an almost 1 year old black tan buck. Total lover boy and not afraid of anything. Can focus for almost 5 seconds if he really concentrates. He just started Rabbit Hopping and does well when he focuses, the rest of the the time he just wants to run around and explore. His favourite shape is a circle and he loves to run them around my feet.

Trying out hopping

Very stressed at his first hopping event.

Kraken is a 16 month old black buck. A bit more reserved than Tesla, but still outgoing. I think he might have a tad more focus, but have not really tried him on the course yet. He also loves to explore. He has taken really well to litter training and is probably about 85% to 90% there. He is a careful rabbit, but still is goofy.

Got to have clean feets in my new digs.

Boing!!

I can do this hopping thing too

Up next are my other bunnies: Korr, Amelia and Lillian.

Korr is a 5.5 year old mixed breed. I got him in Oct of 2005, so he is probably almost 6 years old. I am not sure what breed he is, maybe a Polish mix of some sort. He was my first rabbit. While not a total attention hog, he is still friendly and outgoing. He enjoys being with the girl bunnies and is a huge flirt. At hopping, he has good days where he can win some events, and bad days when he just doesn't want to do it. He is currently the High and Long jump high point winner for this year and has even won the Time Trial. He is a very handsome little dude which shiny fur that gets comments regularly.

Lillian is a 3 year old Giant Angora. She is a cuddle bug and loves attention. She will stand up at the edge of her pen so you can easily pet her and even pick her up for cuddles. She loves to explore. She does OK with the rabbit hopping, but due to her size she can't really go as fast as some of the others. She does enjoy it when she is out.

Amelia is a 1.5 year old lionhead. She disapproves of just about everything. She is a bit more anti social with people, but does well with bunnies. It takes her some time to warm up to people and sometimes even dried apple can't tempt her. She does have a lot of spunk and personality. She is a very careful rabbit on the course and rarely knocks down poles. She does not like really loud noises, especially when children and yelling to screaming. She also does not like to be modded by kids, so this can affect how she does at some events. She is very speedy and hardly needs any direction at all, she will just run the course.

Oh there so cute. I wish Fraggles was a competitive hopper :( But she would just disapprove. If there where competitive stretching out and relaxing or competitive salad/craison eating well then she would be unstoppable!

We did a hopping event at the Calgary Stampede. It was both boys first really big event. They both did well and are still learning, so no wins yet. Tesla did do well in once of the side by side races and got to the quarter finals. Neither one of them really seem to understand when the jumps go higher than 3-4 poles. They just jump and crash through like they expect it to only be 2 poles. This is something we will need to work on. It was hot that weekend, so I didn't want to over work them. It was pretty much some warm up then the competition. Of course, with 5 rabbits I was pretty tired and hot too.

The other buns did well also. Amelia won the High jump on Saturday as well as the Time Trial on Sunday. We did a bonus round with all the jumps up to 4 bars and she won that as well. Korr was 2nd in high jump on Sunday and 3rd for both long and high jump on Saturday. Lillian did alright on Saturday, but she was getting hot and didn't want to come on Sunday, so she stayed home.

Over the weekend, I took Tesla and Kraken to Rocky Mountain Tails which is a local pet supply store. I needed dog food the first time and took Tesla, the 2nd I went with Amanda's mom and sister and took Kraken (I also needed rabbit food). Both of them did well and had a great time exploring the store.

Tesla

You will buy these

These are comfy

Why yes, I do work here.

Kraken

I might like some of these

One of these would be great for home

I get to buy things. Who has money?

Mom looks awesome in the background of that last pic! XD

Too bad I didn't get to go that day (Stupid work) because I'm sure Flynn would have liked to have met them. She had fun exploring the store on a different day though!

It's been a while since I last updated.

Both boys are doing well at agility. I an now run them off leash and boy do they run! When they really get going, they will both binky as they run and binky over the jumps. Tesla seems to do it more and he is getting better with his and and not knocking down poles as much. There was a slight set back with the off leash privileges as we had and outdoor event, outside with already unfocused tans is not good, so they had to be leashed. We are back on track with that though.

Due to the number of rabbits who are now in the rabbit hopping club, we have decided to do the scoring a bit differently this year. Previously, all rabbits competed against each other. The problem with this is the newer rabbits don't have much hop of getting many points and the same rabbits keep winning events. To make is a bit more fair, there are now 2 classes. Division A is the top 15 rabbits and division B is everyone else. Who is on what division may change every few months, right now it is just based on points from the last year. This is very new and was just implemented on Saturday and there are still a few bugs to work out as far as the scoring and such goes.
With this new scoring, Tesla and Kraken as both off to a great start to the year. Both are in the division B (along with Lillian) while Korr and Amelia as Division A. Kraken got 1st in the Time Trial and 2nd in the Side by Side race. Tesla got 2nd in Time Trial, 3rd in Side by Side and 3rd in High Jump. While this may mean they move up to Division B soon, it is still a great accomplishment for rabbits who have been hopping for only 2.5 months.
The other results for me were Korr got 1st in High Jump and Amelia got 4th in High Jump (both Div A) while Lillian got 6th in Side by Side race (Div B). Amelia also got a medal for being 3rd over all for points for last year.
