Training an unspayed Flemish Giant

Hi all,

So I got my beautiful baby last week and she is a 4 month old Flemish Giant.
She is a big fan of peeing on my bed and NOT a fan of staying in her crate overnight! I attempted to lock her in last night so she didn’t spray on my bed again. She bashed and bashed and some how escaped and completely refused fo go back in!

My vet has said they don’t do spaying till 8 months so I would LOVE any tips about litter training her as she is getting hormonal so I don’t have to change my sheets everyday.

Even some perfectly litter trained altered rabbits, will pee on a bed if given a chance. Many rabbits just can't resist peeing on soft things, and for some it's about claiming territory and marking your bed as 'theirs'.

Some options to try are ensuring she sees you as 'top bun' and claim your bed as your space, by consistently shooing her off when she attempts to get on, having an xpen as her home base to stay in when you can't supervise stopping her from peeing on your bed(tall enough that she can't jump over), block your bed off with an xpen, or if you want her to be able to be on your bed with you, you can try putting a blanket of hers that has her scent all over it, on your bed. That can sometimes be enough to alleviate any further scent marking. Or cover your bed with a waterproof sheet.
