My rabbit has had a watery eye for the last few days, and the skin around it is losing a bit of fur, and is more pink than the other side. The other fur around the eye is also clumping together because of the tears. This might be because my dog recently had a mild eye infection, and though they do not have direct contact, I could have transferred it to the bunny since it is highly contagious. Does anyone have any ideas for how to treat this at home, or how much it would cost to go to a vet if I had to? Would giving her eye drops help?

If it's just dust or debris causing minor irritation, flushing the eyes with plain sterile saline eye drops may help. But if it's a more serious eye issue like a scratched cornea, conjunctivitis, eye infection, etc, it needs to be evaluated and treated by a knowledgeable rabbit vet. If there is any sign of clouding of the cornea, white sticky discharge, bulging eyes, and/or ongoing consistent clear discharge, these can indicate a more serious eye condition that needs to be checked by the vet.
