Hey everyone,

My rabbit is 9 years old now. He was neutered within his first year, but he sometimes still gets excited and attempts to hump my arm/leg. Rarely he sprays. In the past year or so it’s been more frequent. I’m not concerned since he seems fine otherwise, but does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

He could be experiencing some incontinence if it seems more like urine dribbling and not flinging the urine purposefully. Which could be age related or disease related(eg. UTI, bladder calcium or stones, spinal issues, e, cuniculi).
But if you are seeing him actually whipping his butt around to spray the urine across the room. If that's what he's doing I know adrenal issues can cause an upsurge of hormonal behaviors in altered rabbits. And this seems to sometimes happen as they get older. So it could have to do with this.
