Scent gland inflection?

About a month ago I noticed my bunny's scent glands on both sides have a black dot in the middle and look swollen - almost like a pimple in human. Fast forward to yesterday, one side developed an infection (as seen in the picture). When cleaning the wounds with chlorhexidine gluconate 4% using a cotton swab today, as soon as I touched it the white stuff inside started squeezing out. Anyone has similar experience and is this something I need to be concerned about? Thanks.

It could be something serious or something not to worry about, my best advise is to get advise from a vet. A vet would know a lot more about this.
