We at the RWAF in the UK were sorry to read that RVHD2 has made its way to the USA. Here is the most up to date information from the US Dept of Agriculture https://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/downloads/Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease_June 2018.pdf
This appears to be a separate outbreak from that affecting Canada.
We hope that your government will now allow vaccine to be imported. We in the UK have two vaccines licensed for use with domestic rabbits, Filavac KC and V which is made by Filavie, a French company, and Eravac made by HIPRA.
Information about vaccination and RVHD2 can be found on our website in the health section https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/rabbit-health/rabbit-vhd/ and further reading is in this article https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/rabbit-health/further-reading/rvhd-further-reading/
This is an awful disease, fatal to infected, unvaccinated rabbits, so please lobby your politicians to allow vaccine to be allowed in the USA
