some of you may have seen my post about a week ago where my rabbit got sick while shedding and wouldnt eat. its happening again, i forgot to brush her last night and now i just tried to give her her supper and she wont eat it but did eat 2 or 3 pellets. i just gave her some gas medicine to help.

i offered her some botanical hay because last time that was the only thing she would eat. she's only eating the little pieces of flower petals and things out of it. is it safe to give her a lot of that? or should i not give her anymore? can she have a lot?

sorry, i clicked post too soon. she is cleaning herself, that's a good sign right?

i shook her container of pellets and she turned her head quick like she was excited, sniffed them, and then wouldnt eat them. the only thing she'll eat are the little rose petals in her botanical hay. i tried to rub her belly but she shook her head and ran away.

If that's all she'll eat, it should be ok to offer more. I would also try offering leafy greens too. If it's been more than 24 hours since she last ate a decent amount, if she is doing loud tooth grinding, has symptoms of bloat, has diarrhea, and/or her condition starts to worsen, I would suggest to get her to an emergency rabbit vet immediately if at all possible. Otherwise, if she hasn't eaten much or at all by morning, I would recommend phoning your vet and getting her seen asap tomorrow, as an emergency if necessary.

okay, thank you! that's good to know for if this ever happens again.

thankfully after a few more doses of gas medicine she's feeling a lot better! she ate all of her salad and is begging for treats again haha
