I have been doing this since 2006 and I founded the Canadian rabbit hopping club in 2007. However, in that video, I had only been working with Jabberwocky for about 4 and a half months, so he got the hang of it real quick!

Haha, that is my newest girl Flynn, she's been going for about 2 months now. She's a real sweetheart and not the fastest, but definitely is one of the most adorable. She's getting better though, she just needs some work!

Wow so you've been doing it for around 4 years. So you must be an experinced trainer. can i see youre first vid.

I'm so glad I found this forum and can chat with other people who do rabbit show jumping!! I'm in the UK and one of my bunnies does show jumping. He loves it. It was easy to teach him, all I did was set up a small jump and persuade him over with treats, he soon got the hang of it and loves it. Here's a video, but do excuse the weird song :p

It all started with my blue dutch rabbit Jasper though who sadly passed away a few months ago. :( He was an amazing jumper and could jump up to 55cm high, he jumped at shows and was a little super star, I miss him so much. :(

Hey Emma, I actually remember Jasper, I was a friend on Facebook (If this is the same blue dutch named Jasper who jumped amazing heights!).

Looks like your new bun is doing pretty well too, I really think rabbits love doing the hopping and really take to it easy, it gives them a chance to strech their muscles. I've talked to plenty of people in the UK and it's nice to be able to talk to someone else over there. Really wish we could take a visit but you guys are just so far away! I'd love to see how our buns would be able to compete over there, there just aren't as many people here who do it (Although the CRHC is starting to get pretty big, which is awesome!)

Yeah he had facebook  hehe! Aww thank you :) I've actually had Mischief quite a while but only recently has he started jumping but yeah he's took to it really easy.

Aww yeah it's a shame we're all so far away! We have a big popular small animal show over here in January where we do a rabbit jumping display. Last year some Swedish people came over with their rabbits to compete against ours. They obviously won because they are pros haha and I suppose we're just beginners hehe and I think they're coming over again this January, shame you guys can't come too but it would be too far I think.

Oh to us there seems to be loads of people in the CRHC because we only have about 15-20 members here! :p

I never heard of this sport before now. I think that is so awesome that you can train your bunny to do this. What a companionship to build to be able to work that closely and have your bunny do this under command.

Congratulations on this successful sport. Hope it grows because I think this builds such an awesome relationship between Human and Rabbit.

Thanks so much for sharing and bring this sport back to the forefront.

K :)

Just a week ago my club volunteered to go into the Cochrane Humane Society and work with some of their shelter rabbits to promote them since they are overrun at this time.

Here's a video of working with Suger. This is literally around 15-20 minutes of work with her before I had her hopping like a champ.

Sugar is just adorable and super sweet. She IS still up for adoption, if only you guys were closer!

We're still waiting for a reply from the rep at the PNE, but it took quite a while for a reply to get through before and they are busy planning so hopefully they're just running later. Hopefully this all works out because I'm really looking forward to it!

Here are some pictures of my boy, Kaelum, doing the jump course! :)

I've started saving up for some new nice themed jumps, too! Going to try and do one each month. Right now I'm still finishing up the first one which is a red, white & blue theme. The next will be in memory of my old hopper, Magic.
