RABBIT NOT EATING - still nibbling

I woke up late today 12pm, and let her roam for abit, lured her out with fresh grass after an hour to put her back in her pen.. she ate it fine (this is about 5 hrs ago).

I left fresh grass on top of her hay back in her pen and when I came back to check on her a few hours later noticed she didn't eat any of it .. which is extremely odd as she loves it.
I tried to hand feed her again but she only slightly nibbled it. I grabbed some treats to see if she will eat it but she just sniffed them and nibbled a few pellets.

She hasn't eaten much hay for breakfast/lunch which is normal as she usually more active at night and that's when she will usually eat alot hay and anything I give her (veggies, pellets, oats)..
The rabbit vets are closed now and I will bring her in tomorrow morning. I have popped her in my room for now to monitor her.. she is hopping around alot at the beginning to explore (normal)

I gave her a belly massage I found on youtube hoping she will pass gas. She just ate her dried carrot treat on her own
and ate some oats if I hand feed them to her and a small piece of kale.

**DAILY DIET**
this week: fresh grass I pluck from my yard, they are washed and it's fenced off so no animals pee/poop on it, unlimited hay, celery, kale, endive, 1tbs of pellets or oats (I alternate days) and 1 treat (usually a dried piece of carrot)
fresh rose petals once a week

**DIET CHANGES**
Last week I introduced her to fresh grass and some rose petals.
this week I started giving her oats (about 1 tbs or less before I go to bed) as I was trying to get her to gain weight and I read it helps with fur, she is currently shedding. I brush her everyday.

**TODAYS POOP**
she had some soft poop, which is normal I usually see them every morning.. not sure if they are the cecotropes coz they are all squished.
also some smaller poops which she usually gets a little each day and especially since I've given her oats.

Small poops and not eating are a sign of GI Stasis, which is a very dangerous illness for rabbits. It might be that she had ingested too much fur because shes shedding. I’d give her baby gas drops and stomach massages. GI Stasis in Rabbits | Causes | Symptoms | Treatment

I wouldn’t give her grass. Just hay, pellets and veggies for now.

Sometimes they can have a little upset tummy that returns to normal, without getting to the stage where digestion shuts down completly, which would be GI-Stasis.
Massages and making them move can help a lot to keep things going, also giving Simethicone (Baby gas drops/ colic relief) to help pass gas (20mg 2-3times per day). It can't do any harm, and can be given if something just starts to look odd.
Looks as if you did right and caught it before it became a serious problem.

I would just keep up her diet, including grass since she is already used to it, but I would reduce the amount of veggies to treat level if there's too soft poop.
Anything from (untreated) roses is safe and fine, leaves, petals, whatever, it can always be fed and is something great to have at hand if their appetite is low, they really love that stuff and it is very easy to digest.
Same with oatmeal, that is also great to administer the gas drops.

I don't alternate oats and pellets, when I have to fatten up a rabbit or for a nursing doe I just mix them and even put some drops of sunflower seed oil over it if the calories are needed.

About the soft poop, and if those are cecotropes, you can post a picture here, or sniff at it, squashed cecos smell different to normal poop.

I think it would be a good idea to get her checked out by the vets, it could be nothing, but it also could be something that requires immediate attention to avoid a fatality.

THanks everyone, all her poops are small so I will take her to the vet tomorrow morning, she's eating and drinking slowly but definitely not her usual self. I do not have those gas drops so will pick some up tomorrow.

Okay. I would give her some mushy pellets for tonight. Just soak some of her regular pellets in water and offer them to her, you can put it on a spoon, in her bowl or syringe feed it to her. It is likely that she has ingested some fur but your vet will confirm it. I hope she gets better.

She ate a little more at night and appears to be back to normal (appetite and poop size) the next day, so I did not end up taking her to the vet as I didn't want to stress her out. I tried to look for Simethicone as suggested but can't seem to find it in Australia? could it be called something else here? I found a few in capsules but not drops. Baby gas drops has different ingredients altogether.

I'm in contact with the vet about her possible EC medications so if they need me to bring her in for that then I will take her then, but otherwise I'll just pop in to get the meds.

Went to pick up the EC meds and the vet said they do not recommend Simethicone to any rabbits so..
They are rabbit only veterinarians.

Ok. It’s good that you got some medication for her! I’ve heard that baby gas drops can be called wind drops in Australia. In England, the one I found was infancol colic relief. But it’s great that you got to talk to your vet about it!

Wow, I wouldn't have thought rabbits are that popular pets in Australia so a vet can specialise on them.

There is a 24/7 emergency vet downstairs for all animals and upstairs its the "Rabbit Doctors" vet, they are amazing my friend said she also takes her rabbits there and also where the rabbit orphanage recommended me take her.
