I was just wondering if anyone had a clearpicture of a chocolate chestnut agouti. I have a 2 week old that wecan't decide color on, and a friend of mine thinks it might be thechocolate color. We can see the color bands, but it has a tort shadeundercolor, and everyone is telling me it should be silverora light color.....help? I don't have a digital right now totake pics. sorry!

Maybe you can have a friend take a photo topost. The chocolate agoutiwould have the same dovegray undercolor as a chocolate would. The intermediatebandis orange and the ticking is chocolate. Thebelly is white with dove gray undercolor.

Vail's color guide has some photos, although they are not very clearhttp://www.geocities.com/karinvail/colorguide.html

Here are photos of Rex choc. agoutis

I will definately have to try to find some oneto come over and take some pics. for me. Thanks for the help. I stilldon't think that's the right color though. He does have the dove greyon his hind end, but it looks totally different across the tops of hisshoulders to about mid back. There are three different colored bandsstarting with brown ticking a black band and when you blow into it, itlooks like a tort color. His dam has a lot of Opal and blue, and in herthird generation she has one bkn gold steel, and a chestnut. His sireis a bkn tort with mostly tort back ground but does have a bkn chestnutin the third generation.

Might just have poor undercolor over the backwhich may come in better as the kit gets a little older. It'sstill really young to be able to tell.
