So I just completed my degree and I must say, being an undergrad student was WAY too easy because now I am scared of the real world lol Planning on writing the Gmat and the Lsat this summer to keep my options open and I need to find a new job. Time to move away from the part time retail jobs and find something I am able to grow in. I am a cosmetician for shoppers drug mart and have been for about six years which was good because they were accommodating with my school schedule. Now I only get one day a week and I literally have nothing to do! I am so used to being busy all the time with readings, assignments, organization meets etc as I was pretty proactive with extracurriculars. Now...I am going crazzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy being at home. I do have some of my time occupied, going to the gym but I need my structured life back lol Sigh..what I would do to rewind the last four years and do it all over BUT onward and upward as they say. Anyone else in the same boat??

I'm graduating in 26 days, then driving across the country to move back to southern California for 4 years of vet school. It's kind of the opposite of a job (you know, since I'll be paying them and all) but I'm definitely excited about it!

Congrats and good luck. I found my one and only job when I got out of the service and worked it full time while going to school--five degrees and ten years later, all I had left was full time work. Was nice to sort of relax. Now, I'm a full time bunny herder.

I graduated last fall with a Bachelor's in Animal Science so this semester I found a full time job buuut I hated it and she kept writing me bad checks so I quit. I've been wondering what to do with myself in the downtime as well.

BUT, I'm moving in like 3 weeks so basically every waking hour is spent figuring out hotels/maps/car tune-ups/packing...

And we don't even have a place to LIVE in yet so I'm finding the "real world" even more stressful than school!

Agreed that a full time job is hard...eccspecially traditional mon-fri 8-5 jobs. Im a stay at home mom, tried working but they always wanted me to work nights and weekends. Probably what a lot of families go through with daycare 600$ a week for two kids.
You could volunteer somewhere though, cant hurt your resume!

I volunteer at the local SPCA and find it very rewarding. I love to help the buns and cats socialise so they are more able to get adopted. Particularly with the buns I do a lot of education as well.

I agree that if you're serious about finding a job...

Job searching is a full time job, you have to be out and handing out resumes, searching online... All day, eventually you'll find something.

If you're just looking for a hobby...
Volunteering or joining a gym would be awesome.

When I move I'm going to volunteer at the zoo as an assistant animal caretaker. Not sure what animals I help out with, but I'm hoping with my animal related bachelor's and wanting to pursue a master's in biology I can get a job with animals I love to do every day. I'm hoping that volunteering helps me get my foot in the door :)
