I can only imagine it is from living in poor conditions prior to coming to live with her new mommy.

Is she eating litter rather than the hay because she has been in litter before, but never eaten hay? The litter isn't toxic of course, but I would like to avoid worrying about impacted anything this early on (or ever). The solution I am working with is no litter in the litter box, only hay. But I don't really want to do that forever, although I guess I could.

So tell me, is she missing minerals, unaccustomed to hay, just being weird to make me scared because she thinks it is funny? I have just never had a rabbit who would rather eat litter than pellets or hay (too young to eat any treats/veggies right now anyways).

Maybe she hasn't eaten hay before. Why don't you hold one stem out to her to give her the idea. Maybe you should make chewing noises, too.
