My kits were born 14 days ago, we had a peanut that died and now left with 9 babies, mom never produced any milk. I am syringe feeding them. I started with KMR and switched to goats milk hearing it's better. It's been about 4 days since switched, the last 2 days they haven't wanted to eat much at all and now tonight 4 or 5 have diarrhea. I don't know what to do. Is it from switching? Should I switch back? I'm very worried!!

Yellow or brown diarrhea? True diarrhea(not just mushy cecals with normal round fecals) is critical and usually an emergency situation, especially in baby rabbits. And with them also not eating, their chances of surviving much longer aren't good, and you may not have the time needed to get things turned around.

They would need to be taken to an experienced rabbit vet immediately, and get put on fluids, metronidazole, questran, and force feedings. You can try switching back to the other formula if you want, but if the diarrhea is from clostridium growth in the digestive tract, switching back over isn't likely to make a difference. It will only help if they have a sensitivity to the goats milk. At this point, I don't think it would hurt to at least try switching back over.

it's brown, it was all over them. It wasnt quite liquid when it was coming out, I got to see that too but it wasn't solid. I looked at the dates, it wasn't 4 days ago I switched, It was 8 days ago so I don't think it's from that, but I don't know. I just talked to my bunny expert and she also has no clue, I'm gonna have to take them to the vet..And ofcourse it's Sunday 🤦

It sounds like it could be entertoxemia then. And that's really not good. Unless sub q or IV fluids and meds are started quickly, especially cholestyramine(Questran) or other toxin binder to bind the toxins released by the bacteria, it can prove fatal very quickly.

Medirabbit: bacterial enteritis

(WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC NECROPSY PHOTOS)
Medirabbit: weaning enteritis/diarrhea

Oh no, so scary!! I dont want to lose anymore, losing our tiny peanut was so hard, we are so attached to these little guys. I'm going to call around and find an emergency vet that will take them and have a look. Thankyou for your response, I appreciate it 😊
