Cookie recently had baby’s they were about three weeks and cookie was terrorizing them, they were terrified but they all were eating food so I moved cookie out of there pen. I think cookie possibly has mastitis but it’s only bin 3 days. So I put her back in the pen with the baby’s last night, we’re she did let them nurse but thismorning her nipples were redder and hotter. How can I help

If she has mastitis she needs treatment with an appropriate rabbit safe antibiotic. Depending on her pain level and continued eating, meloxicam(anti inflammatory pain med) and syringe feeds may also be needed. The vet may have you apply a warm compress on the nipples and an a rabbit safe antiseptic as well.

If your doe does have mastitis, the kits should not be nursing off her or they could become sick. In which case, if they have been weaned early, it's important to ensure they are eating properly and enough to maintain good growth. Also very important to provide the correct low carb high fiber diet as they are starting to eat solid foods, to prevent enteric illness occurring.
