Great thread!
We went to Seguin, TX this last Saturday (I think I'm still recovering)...it was a double show.
We showed 9 rabbits in each show. Here are their results. (There were 14 or 15 lionheads total).
Jr. Sable Point Buck - 1/1 (only one in his class) - BOV Show A, DQ'd show B
Sr. Tort Buck BOSV - Show A - DQ'd Show B - 2 in class
Jr Black Buck - 1/1 Show A - DQ'd Show B (do we see a pattern??)
Sr Black Doe - 2 in class - BOV - Show A - BOB - Show B (WOO HOO)
Sr Chestnut Buck - 1 in class - BOSV Show A - DQ'd Show B
Jr. Tort Doe - 1 in class - BOB Show A, 1/1 - Show B
Jr. Sable Pt Doe (homegrown) - 1/1 - Show A, DQ'd Show B
Sr. Tort Buck - 2/2 Show A - BOS - Show B
Jr. Tort Buck - 1/1 Show A & 1/1 Show B
I felt pretty badly that my homegrown didn't do as well as the ones I'd bought...but as someone told me later - it shows me that I do have an"eye" for quality rabbits...now if I can just BREED them!
The one thing that really pleased me though is that all but one rabbit got "good" or "very good" for type. I've been told by an expert breeder that you can only teach that to a point- that a person really needs to develop an "eye" for it...and she had told me to stop doubting myself on this...
So I'm pretty pleased!
Next show....LIONHEAD NATIONALS in May!
