Licking after neuter

Hi all
My bunny has just been neutered and im a bit worried that hes going to get infected hes been licking quite a bit is it bad for him and does anyone have any recommendations for how to stop him from continuosly licking his wound ?

The most critical thing to make sure of is that your bun doesn't try and chew open the incision site. If he's doing more than licking, you'll need to stop him and contact your vet. Usually they have them wear an e collar, but that can cause some real difficulties for rabbits. Better options might be a soft e collar, donut collar, or a pet shirt(may work depending on where the incision is). If the vet didn't send you home with pain meds(meloxicam), then I would request some, as he may be paying too much attention to the incision because of inadequate pain control.
