nemo has never had an igloo or any other hiding place in his cage. i have never really felt it necessary to give him one. maybe that is why he is so overly friendly with people and loves to be cuddled under blankets?

does he REALLY need one? he is great without one, i think. although i can't see what he is thinking....:)

Nah, the igloos are too small for most rabbits anyway. Many do appreciate having a shelf to sit under (or on top of) or a box to sit in, but not all need that. Of mine, Mocha needs it when she's in the pen (as opposed to a cage with a top on it)- it's like a safety blanket and makes her feel more secure. She's nervous without it. Oberon needs one to run into when he spazzes out (poor eyesight, he freaks out from lots of random stuff).

Nope, don't "need" them, my first two buns never had one.

If you want to see what'd he do with one cheaply? Cut out a door in a decent sized box, turn it upside down and put in the cage and see what he does. That's what we did, cost us nothing and he goes in it, not like he did at first, but he loves to dig in it in the early mornings-for some reason:craziness.

I don't think they need igloo's they are way to overpriced, and not even that great!

I think it is important for them to have somewhere to go to hide, but like others said, just cut a hole in a box, and they will be happy :)

thinks that they can pick up and move and jump on I'm not fond of due to a very freak accident I had here. Personally I like something that is more stable and sturdy.

I had a polish boy named Dusty Miller, he was very small and an the extra large igloo was big enough for him to hid in and jump on. he liked to move it around tip it over put it in his litter box., One day her placed it on his litter box and decided to jump ontop of it, because it was tieetering ontop the litter box it was very unstable and he fell off landing on his head and neck just right that he broke his neck and died instantly.

I was quite distraut about it and the vet said to me, he was playing having a good time, and it was so quick he probally never even knew what happened.. very freak accident, but I tossed the thing into the trash, only sturdy things for my buns to climb on. If they fall off that then they are just being stupid, but I wont risk them thinking they are doing something fun and safe and have that happen again.

on the flip side I had one bun climb up items in my house till she was 4 feet high jump off land on her mouth and nose and only suffer a cut to her lip from her teeth hitting her lip at impact. go figure.
