We were going to build a small hutch for our bunny, but now am thinking about making a NIC cage. About how much are the slats and where did ya'll find them? Faith is quickly outgrowing her tiny cage!

The following site has a list of potential places to buy the grids. I have found that it really varies per store. For instance, sometimes walmarts have them and sometimes they don't. (I know the link is for guinea pigs, but it still tells you where to look)

And here are 2 of many sites that tell you how to make one:

And, finally, if you haven't already done so, there are many variations on the NIC cage that you can see from members here. They can be found here:

walmart has 'em online (but not in most stores) for $19.47 for 17 grids/20 connectors in black (you can get multi-colored for $2 more/white for $2.50 more... they'll do free site to store or if you order three boxes you can get free shipping (mine showed up in 2 days)

bed bath and beyond has them for $19.99 (gray) (should be 17 grids/20 connectors as well), also comes with two shelves... not sure exactly how they work, but could make for good steps, I'm guessing. you have to pay shipping if you buy them online, but it looks like they do carry them in stores:

someone on this site mentioned last week that lowe's had them in-store for $15.99, which would be the best deal if you have a lowe's in your area.

Yep, we checked three times at our Target and asked three different employees, they don't have them. We'll have to do the site-to-store thing for Walmart.

Wow, the sears price is really cheap, I wish we had one near us! Yeah, we just have a target and a walmart, and apparently the target doesn't carry them, so a-ordering we go.

I thought that was the target ones? I ordered the whitmore brand cubes from walmart and there were no big squares in any of the panels.

I just checked out the sears ones... if they have them in stock at your local store, you can reserve/pay for them online to get the discounted price and then go right to the store to pick them up :)

i ordered mine online the otherday and got them sent to the store for pick up so i didnt have to pay for shipping. im not sure if you can do that but you can check it out on their website just select pick up and then check stores near you it should be fairly simple. becaus eif you cant do that then shipping for two boxes of the 6 cube would end up costing like 100+$ with shipping (yikes!!) thats what the total came out to for when i checked the shipping to compare to instore pick up.

also it only took 2/3 days for it to get to the store
